Game Recap

The Zeeland Women’s Water Polo team traveled to Rockford this weekend and played in their last regular season tournament. The team started off by losing to Okemos 6-4 and Ann Arbor Huron 7-3 before bouncing back and tying East Kentwood 6-6 and defeating East Grand Rapids 9-8. The teams overall record now stands at 11-14-1.

Paige Hove led the team with 6 assists, 12 steals, and 5 field blocks and her older cousin Sam Hoeve led the team with 7 goals. In goal, Tori Huizenga made an even 50 saves. In all, 6 different girls scored.

“This weekend we played very well as a team. We spent a lot of energy on the defensive side and didn’t have much on the offensive side. That was the best we have communicated and we improved with each game and quarter that we played. We are in a great spot heading into the post season next weekend.” – Coach Vruggink
