Game Recap

It was a very back and forth match for West and Black River. Both teams had numerous opportunities and the action was non stop. Black River got on the board 1st on a nice through ball that was neatly tucked into the Dux goal. Both teams had chances but could not connect. After a short halftime the teams pucked up where they left off. The Dux got on the board to equalize when defender Nate Visser took a rebound cut to his left and rifled a shot in to the far side netting. Black River kept coming but the Dux defense held fast led by keeper Fernando Rodriguez who turned away shot after shot. The Dux found the net again off a header by Josiah Peterson from a beautiful cross from Alex Conde. The Dux finished their scoring when Ethan Dryden bent a ball from 35 yards through the reeling Black River keeper and into the back of the net. Credit to Black River as they kept coming and coming. They broke through again on a nice through ball and again found net. Black River is a great team and I love playing them because it is always a fantastic match. Fernando Rodriguez had an awesome game in net coming off an injury that kept him out the last 2 games. He had 5 saves on 8 shots. 2 of which were break aways.
