Soccer ball

In soccer action last night, the 8th grade team took on an exceptionally fast and highly skilled West Ottawa Harbor Lights team. A stingy yet patient defensive effort in the first quarter, kept the game scoreless for the first 15 minutes. However, the Panthers broke the game open in the second quarter, scoring 4 goals in the next 15 minutes to take a 4-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Dux offense started moving the ball better, and generated 3-4 quality chances, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Panthers scored 2 goals in the 3rd quarter and 2 goals in the 4th quarter to secure the win. The Dux continue their home stand this week as they host Grandville.

Connor Dobrinski also knocked one in before half, putting your DUX up by 2.  Harbor Lights scored one in the second half and threatened to score again, but your DUX held them off, earning the 2-1 win. Nathan VanDyken played a great game in net.  The entire team helped earn the victory through their effort and hustle.
