Soccer ball

In 8th grade soccer action last night, the Dux hosted a talented and big and physical Holland team. The first half was very evenly matched, with both teams generating good offense, and playing solid defense. Two first half goals by Holland, gave the Dutch a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. In the second half, the Dux continued to play solid defense, and started moving the ball through the midfield better. Great hustle and effort resulted in the Dux getting a goal back, when Ethan Bosch drove towards the endline and cut the ball back and across the penalty box. Corban Hauch settled the cross with a solid first touch, and blasted his shot past the helpless Holland keeper. Despite controlling the tempo and pace in the second half, the Dux were unable to get the equalizer, as several shots just missed either wide or high. Two timely saves by Holland’s keeper preserved the win for the Dutch. By far, our best performance and effort of the season. The Dux play their final match on Thursday, as they travel to WO Mac Bay. Great game boys!

Yesterday, the 7th grade soccer team took on an incredibly talented Holland squad.  Your DUX played well with them.  Unfortunately, Holland took a 9-0 win.
