Friday night Jenison played hockey against the Southwest Michigan Blades in Kalamazoo. This was the first of two games of a Kalamazoo show case. Brett Batten was in net and kept the scoring quiet for the first period. The Wildcats gave up the first goal, but five minutes later Ethan Vandesteeg scored, assisted by Hunter Jamieson & Jackson Terpstra. The Blades scored two quick goals to take the lead back. The Cats came back to tie things up at the end of the second period with goals from Jackson Terpstra & Chad Lemke. The assist on these timely goals went to Hunter Jamieson, Brandon Veltema & Clayton Boerigter.

Half way into the third period, Jenison’s Brandon Veltema scored with a pass from Chad Lemke to take the first lead of the night. With just two minutes left the Blades scored to tie it up.

The game went into overtime and Southwest Michigan scored to end the game, 5-4.

The Team’s thoughts are with teammate Cade Elliott, get well soon.
