Zeeland West fought hard tonight, but came up short.  Led by Caleb Kender on defense in the first half, the Dux held Demetrius Lake to 14 points in the first two quarters.  The Dux turned the ball over many times early on which led to fast break points for the Dutch.  West was down 22-12, but battled back slowly to cut Holland’s lead to two at the half.  The Dux had a strong third quarter led by Mason Bakker and Jayk Slager in the post.  Bakker finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds to go along with Slager adding 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Unfortunately, the Dux had a 46-40 lead with a minute to go in the third quarter when Holland scored on three straight shots to take a 49-46 lead at the break.  Three points was as close as West would get while being outscored by 12 points in the fourth quarter.  West travels to Hamilton on Friday night to take on the Hawkeyes at 6 p.m.
