Jenison Wildcat hockey took the ice against the Manistee Chippewas on Saturday night. The Cats came out of the first period with a two goal lead on the Chips. The first goal was scored on a nice combination of Ethan Vandesteeg scoring and Jackson Terpstra with a perfect stretch pass. With under a minute left in the period, Chad Lemke scored from an assist by Clayton Boerigter.

In the Second period, we saw more of the Wildcat’s offense and less of Manistee’s, with Cade Elliot in net shutting the Chips out. In the second period, Jackson Terpstra, Chad Lemke and Brandon Veltema all scored. For assists in the 2nd period, we saw Hunter Jamieson making the right pass twice for two.  Ryan Schab, Clayton Boerigter and Hunter Schrauger all had one apiece. At the end of the 2nd it was 5-0 Wildcats.

During The 3rd period in Jenison’s first shift, Chad Lemke scored (Hat Trick) with the assist from Brandon Veltema. Just about a minute later, the Chippewas got on the score board with a goal. The last goal of the game was scored by Jenison’s Hunter Jamieson with the assists going to Hunter Schrauger and Jackson Terpstra. Final score Cats 7 and the Chippewas 1.

Next game is next Friday night at 6:00 away at Southside Ice Arena against Byron Center. Make the trip to Byron Center, this should be a good game, a fired up Jenison offense vs one of the best goalies in the area!!! See you Friday!
