Zeeland West JV Dux Win Back-And-Forth Against West Ottawa

Zeeland West JV Dux defeated West Ottawa 17-14 on Wednesday. The Dux trailed 14-13 in the bottom of the fifth inning when there was an error, scoring two runs.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Zeeland West collected ten hits to West Ottawa’s nine.

West Ottawa captured the lead in the first inning, but Zeeland answered and tied it up at five in the second.

Zeeland scored seven runs in the fourth inning. This big inning was driven by a double by Courtlyn Merryman, a single by Rachel Marier, a walk by Madissen Crevier, and a single by Brinzie Kalkman.

Alanna Shivers earned the win for the Dux pitching seven innings.

Crevier went 3-for-4 at the plate and Clarie Barkel scored four runs.
