Zeeland West Varsity Baseball Falls In Back-And-Forth Affair Against Holland Christian

The Zeeland West Varsity baseball team and Holland Christian played a tight game, but Holland Christian pulled out the 4-3 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at three with Holland Christian batting in the top of the sixth when there was an error, scoring one run.
Zeeland West lost despite out-hitting Holland Christian eight to six.

Caleb Kender took the loss for Zeeland West. He pitched two innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out one, and walking zero. Gabe DeBoer started the game for the Dux. He went five innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, and striking out five.

Zeeland West had eight hits in the game. Collin Merryman and Clayton Kuipers each collected multiple hits for the Dux. Sleeman and Kender each drove in one run to lead the team.

Zeeland West is now 13-14 (4-8 OK-Green) and will travel to Hamilton next week Tuesday to take on the Hawkeyes in OK-Green Conference play. The first pitch is set for 4pm.
