Boys Track & Field Excel at Monday’s Junior Varsity Meet

This past Monday night the Zeeland West boys junior varsity crew brought home the 1st place trophy for the 3rd year in a row at the Striders Squire Invitational.  The Dux lead the way with 158 points with the Chix of Zeeland East in a strong 2nd at 94 points.in the 15 team meet

On the sprint side of things Gabe Harris lead the way with first place finishes in the 400m (52.27) and the 200m (23.97).  Matt Converse ran an excellent race finishing first in the 800m in a time of 2:03.85.  Ethan Senti had a great night in the distance events as he finished 6th in the mile (4:58.76) and sprinted past the  leader in the final 50m of the 3200 to capture the title (10:40.88).  Hurdles were a dominant event for the team as Dylan Munnter and Slava Moll swept the top positions in both events with Muntter winning the 110H (16.19) and Moll cruising the the win in the 300 H (44.86) Chase Peddie lead the way in the jumps with a 2nd place finish in the long jump (18’9.5″). In the throws the team show their strength in the shot with 4 top 10 placers (Tanner Thompson 2nd (38’0″) Reese Beck 3rd (37’1″) Austin Brower 7th (35’8″) and Jaden Berdecia 10th (34’6″).  In the discus Beck continued his evening performance with a 2nd place finish (116’4″).  The team showed their depth in the relays by winning both sprint relays (4×100 – Luke Johnson, Connor Holwerda, Jack Snyder, and Ross Bolman – 47.18) and (4 x 200 – Kaden VanTuinen, Ross Gilbert, Bolmand and Snyder – 1:39.37).  The team wrapped up the night with a strong 2nd place finish in the 4 x 400 (Dylan Muntter, Slava Moll, Connor Holwerda, and Kaden VanTuinen 3:45.68).  GO DUX!
