Meet Recap

Zeeland wrapped up a tremendous season this weekend. While the boys had been consistently ranked 6th throughout the regular season, they came poised to make a splash, finishing 3rd at the MHSAA State Championship. There were several highlights throughout the meet, lead by Micah DeJonge’s state championship and school record in the 500 free. Other top performances include DeJonge’s 200 free (3rd, school record), Mac Robertson’s 500 free (school record) and the 400 free relay (2nd).

Zeeland had several All State performances:
Micah DeJonge – 200 free, 500 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay
Mac Robertson – 500 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay
Jared Cook – 200 free relay
Noah Macomber – 1 meter
Josh Zylstra – 1 meter
Gabe Trevino – 50 free, 100 free, 400 free relay
Austin Mills – 100 back, 400 free relay

While our swimmers and divers made a great impact on the state, they also made great strides on the national level. Micah DeJonge achieved automatic All American status in the 500 free, and a strong consideration cut in the 200 free. Gabe Trevino achieved consideration status in the 50 free, and the 400 free relay achieved an automatic cut. Consideration cuts will be determined at the end of spring swim seasons across the country.

Great job, boys!
