Multiple Teams · JV Soccer: The Confernce Tournament

The JV Dux wrap up their season with the conference tournament.  The Dux faced another bird bash the first round of tournament play this season.  West hosted East May 16.  The Dux started off out of the gates.  They flocked together and communicated on the field playing together as a team.  MaryBeth Owocki placed a beautiful ball in the back of the net setting us to a 1-0 lead.  The next goal was put in by Sophia Ralya.  With a 2-0 lead, the Dux thought they were set, but the Chix stepped up and were able to fight back.  A great game indeed, the Dux lost 2-3 to the Chix.

In the second tournament match the Dux traveled to Unity Christian.  This game, despite the score, was possibly one of the best games to watch all season.  Many obstacles faced the girls this evening.  With only 2 subs and 80 degree heat the JV Dux came together and played with more Dux Heart then we have ever seen.  The girls wore pride home that night on the bus, never gave up, and were playing positions they had never tried before.  A team shows a lot with heart, this night the girls trusted one another and poured it all out on the field.  The Dux came home to a 7-0 loss, but it felt like a win in our book!  Kallie Fincannon played an outstanding game in back in net.  A shout out to our keeper!  Go Dux!

The third and final game of the season the Dux traveled to Hamilton to face the Hawkeyes.  This was a tough match to end our season, for it did not sum up the feel to a great year.  The Dux lost 3-0, but we were able to pull together and play a tough 2nd half.  The JV Dux ended Conference play 3-3-0 and their overall season at 8-5-2.  A great season ladies, and many more to come!  Congratulations!
