The Freshman girls basketball team used a strong 4th quarter to propel them to a 38-20 victory over Wayland. The Dux were down early in the game, losing 7-3 at the end of the 1st quarter. The girls were able to get going a little bit offensively in the 2nd quarter to take a 12-10 lead into halftime. The game remained tight heading into the 4th quarter with the Dux only leading 22-18 and that’s when the girls really stepped it up defensively. The Dux outscored Wayland 16-2 in the 4th quarter to seal the win.
West was lead by Abigail Eckert’s 17 point effort, with 8 of those point coming in the 4th quarter. Maddie Settlemyre contributed 6 points and both Rylee Fowler and Ellie Zinger chipped in 5.
